Drew Peterson: Too Bad the Death Penalty Won’t Be On the Table

Published by ceegee at 9:04 pm under Busted Edit This

Ex-copper Drew Peterson obviously thinks he can get away with murder, otherwise his nonchalant attitude in front of reporters during his arrest at his home almost two weeks ago, wouldn’t have reared it’s head.

But hey man, what ex-cop doesn’t think they can’t get away with murder, right?

So anyway he’s finally been busted for the murder of his third wife, and while he is yet to be charged in the disappearance of the woman he replaced his third wife with; I think the writing is on the wall. It’s too bad though that there is a moratorium on executions in Illinois.

I think the guy should fry if he is found guilty of killing his third wife, a woman who for several months prior to her body being found in an empty bathtub, had fears that her soon-to-be ex-husband Drew would kill her.

Have I convicted Peterson already? Absoeffinlutely.

There is little doubt in my mind that the arrogant fame chaser didn’t snuff out his third wife, and that he didn’t do the same thing to his fourth wife. Come on, how many people in the U.S. that have been following this story believe him when he says he didn’t kill his third and fourth wife?

Peterson strikes me as a calculating kind of guy, the kind of guy who gets what he wants at all costs, and without due consideration for others. He’s the kind of guy who would kill his own mother if it came to getting what he wants.

Do I think he would sell out his own children, or kill them? Ah huh, I think so, but I don’t think he would do something like that until they were old enough to take care of themselves, you know, no longer his responsibility.

The families of Kathleen Savio and his fourth wife Stacey have endured an 18-month police investigation and during that time Peterson and his attorney Joel Brodsky, have been chasing fame, and likely a small fortune in appearance fees. They have been putting on quite a show-though Brodsky looks like he might be a little bit of dufus. He reminds of Larry of Three Stooges fame.

There is no doubt in my mind when it comes to Brodsky that his judiciary peers enjoy endless hours of laughs at his expense. And to think Peterson thinks the clown can get him off on the murder charge. That is too freaking hilarious.

I predict that Brodsky won’t be seeing Peterson’s murder trial through to the end; that Peterson will come to his senses and kick the bumbling attorney to the kerb.

If Peterson expects to be found innocent, the first step to that end is to dump the laughable lawyer.  Brodsky is just too much of a bonehead to get his client off on a minor traffic matter, never mind a murder charge.

This past Monday Peterson entered a plea of not guilty, and then the prosecution asked that the judge hearing the case, Judge Richard Schoenstedt, be removed from the case; something to do with the judge having dismissed felony gun charges against Peterson last November. Prosecutors feel the judge might be a little biased in favour of Peterson because of the dismissal of those felony gun charges. I’m inclined to believe that.  Peterson’s lawyer is challenging that motion.

The prosecution’s motion makes sense to me. I know if I were the prosecutor, I certainly wouldn’t want a judge who dismissed charges against the felon I’m holding accountable for murder, deciding his fate on the mountain of circumstantial evidence I am presenting in a murder case against him.

The prosecution’s move by the way, forced Brodsky to reconsider his demand that Peterson’s $20 million bail be reduced to half-a-million, though I have no idea why.

What does bail reduction for your client have to do with the recusing of a judge Brodsky, and don’t give me that crap that the judge would have refused your request to save face in the eyes of the prosecution.

At the end of the day, the circumstantial case against Peterson isn’t looking good, especially if it can be proven that Peterson was motivated by money when he killed his third wife.

The smart aleck remarks Peterson has been making, the showmanship and hamming it up for the cameras outside his home, the numerous television and radio appearances, and that “Win a Date with Drew Peterson” thing aren’t doing him any favours in the court of public opinion where when this case goes to trial, a jury pool will be selected from. Peterson and his lawyers are idiots if they think otherwise; that this is just a game.

As far as I’m concerned the two-time wife killer has dug himself quite a hole with his arrogant attitude, and he is going to pay a high price for it, though I don’t think anything but the death penalty will suffice in this case if he is found guilty of at least one murder.

Like I said, it’s too bad there is a moratorium on executions in the State of Illinois.  The SOB deserves to sizzle in my opinion and from the inside out.

Rumour: Human remains have been pulled from the Des Plaines River in Illinois, and rumours abound that those remains might be of Stacey Peterson,  missing since October 2007. This is a breaking news story, and as of six hours ago, police have been unable to confirm if the remains are that of a male or female. Read about it .
